Sunday Evening

David called, and I went into DC to meet him, Kathleen, and Heather at Zaytinya's at G and 9th Street NW, which is a Mediterranean restaurant that serves mezzes (tapas-like appetizer-sized dishes). We each had two dishes, bread, and with dessert, left stuffed.

And here you can see how well my digital camera does not handle backlit situations - I desaturated and tweaked, but this photo may not be viewable on some monitors.

I can see both pictures just fine and they both look good. I'm actually surprised by how good the b&w one looks. OTOH, I have a really nice monitor.

Monitors do have a lot to do with it. My crappy school monitors are all messed up from the extreme humidity in the room. My picture of Meg's knitting is awful. But I still haven't fully figured out my camera, let alone the subtle nuances of digital "developing."
